Welcome to the new YHTPHN website.
Thank you for visiting our new and improved website. You are now able to apply for events online, keep an online record of your CPD, and download event podcasts and attendance certificates. You will only be required to enter your details once. Here, we aim to describe the new features we have added to make our website a more valuable resource for you.
The improvements we have made are designed to support our recently launched Advanced Public Health CPD Programme and the following new functions are available:
- Interactive CPD and events calendar
You can view current and past events in two ways:
Click on any highlighted date to view details of event(s) planned for that day. Events are colour coded by event type for ease of navigation and a key is provided on the right hand side of the page. To find out more about an event or to register for a place, click on 'further details' in the pop-up box.
Current and past events are also displayed in list view. Click on the event title to view further information or to register for a place. Each event page provides you with full details of the event, allows you to download any materials or pre-reading available, obtain directions through an interactive venue map, import the appointment to your personal electronic diary and register for the event.
(To register for an event you will need to create an account with the network. Registering also provides other benefits, such as the opportunity to maintain your own personal portfolio (explained below) and receiving public health updates to your inbox.)
When you register with us an e-portfolio will be created automatically. This is an online space, private to you, which will enable you to keep an online record of your personal development.
The portfolio outlines and describes each competency and level within the PHSCF helping users to familiarise themselves with it. The PHSCF is mapped to the KSF for NHS staff and a link to where you can find these comparisons is given. The PHSCF is not intended to replace the KSF but provides a consistent and standardised tool for measuring skills and competences throughout the multi-disciplinary, multi-agency public health workforce.
The e-portfolio is based on the Public Health Skills and Career Framework (PHSCF). YHTPHN CPD events are mapped to the PHSCF competences and levels and once you have attended a CPD event your portfolio will automatically be updated to reflect the learning you have undertaken (see image below). You also have the option of adding your own notes to your portfolio to enable you to keep a record of your reflections and development.

Your personal record will help you to identify any development gaps you might have, and any opportunities available to meet them.
The e-portfolio is also designed to allow you to keep a record of any CPD you have undertaken outside of the YHTPHN. You can do this by self-selecting a competency and level in the ‘My notes' section. This will automatically update your personal record.
- Online event evaluation and certificate download
Once you have attended a YHTPHN event you will be prompted to submit an online evaluation. Follow the instructions given in the email to complete your evaluation and once it has been received the evaluation summary will be available online and your certificate of attendance will be available for you to download and print from your personal portfolio.
Some YHTPHN events will be filmed and available to view from your personal portfolio. You will be alerted when a new video has been uploaded.
To help support individuals who facilitate the Win Programme we have created a bank of online resources including example presentations and session plans, cohort dates, learning outcomes and accreditation requirements, plus much more.
This section of the website is restricted to WIN facilitators. If you are a WIN facilitator and would like access to the online resource centre please ensure you tick the relevant box at the end of the registration form.
COMING SOON...
There are further developments yet to be released, such as a private area for Health Trainer staff to download files. We will keep you updated.
