If we truly believe that every individual has a part to play in improving the health of the population we need to ensure that they are able to play their part by focusing on enhancing capacity and capability of the workforce. Providing good quality, accessible education and development opportunities are integral to this.
The Yorkshire and Humber Teaching Public Health Network (YHTPHN) is one of 9 regional Networks established in 2006 by the Department of Health.
The YHTPHN has four key objectives:
- Support and encourage effective partnerships across the provider and commissioner interface
- Increase the capacity for public health programmes based on identified needs and capacity gaps
- Facilitate the further development of healthy learning environments within the HE and FE setting
- Use information and intelligence to effectively support the development of learning opportunities.
On this site you will be able to join the network, find out about upcoming events via our online calendar, download information on previous events, access information about learning and development opportunities in the region and our work on promoting healthy learning environments. Once you have registered you will also be able to plan your events according to competency area on the Public Health Skills and Career Framework, maintain your personal portfolio, give feedback on events and download certificates for the YHTPHN events you have attended.
We are constantly developing this site to ensure that we meet the needs of our network members. We would be really pleased to hear any suggestions from you.
