Yorkshire and Humber Regional Health Trainer Strategy and Action Plan
2010/11 will be the last year in which there is DH funding for the Regional Health Trainer Programme. £35K has been promised (but not yet received) and together with monies carried over from 2009/10 is sufficient to maintain a reduced regional team until end of March 2011. Clearly it's vital that we make best use of this resource in our final year, and to this end we have consulted with hub members, commissioners and health trainers themselves to find out what they wish us to prioritise.
The feedback we've received has been consistent: we need to prioritise sustaining health trainer services through building the evidence base and seeking to inform commissioning at regional and district level. Training/CPD and the organisation of the annual health trainer event, although they have been greatly valued in the past, are now seen as less important, as is the development of the website. The actions set out in the document reflect this realignment of priorities. Click below to see the full Action Plan for 2010/11 and previous regional strategies.
