About Us: Overview

The public health workforce is not a single professional group but rather a complex and diverse mix of professions working in a variety of settings, contributing to a common agenda.

The Yorkshire and Humber Teaching Public Health Network (YHTPHN) is one of 9 regional Networks established in 2006 by the Department of Health to increase teaching capacity and capability for the wider public health workforce.

The Yorkshire and Humber Network is co-terminus with the Government Office Yorkshire and Humber, Regional Development Agency, NHS Yorkshire and Humber and the Regional Public Health Observatory.

In April 2007, as part of the review of the strategic objectives and work programme for the TPHN a management group and a wider stakeholder group were established. To find out more about each of these groups please select 'governance' from the menu on the left or click here.
