Health and well-being in Wakefield - a matter of public health
Within Wakefield, helping to improve the health and well-being of local people is a major part of the work carried out by the Public Health Department and to achieve this, the Primary Care Trust (PCT) employ public health specialists. These specialists are the main faciliators of the programme, and each deliver sessions around their areas of expertise while informing and contributing to the ongoing development of the Programme within the district.
Please click here to access the Wakefield District PCT website where you will find information about "health on your street", staying healthy and long-term conditions. You can also find out about the work of the Stop Smoking Advisors, Community Food and Health team, the available help around substance misuse and the support provided for people with long-term conditions such as asthma.
